AI Usage Policy

SLP Command uses artificial intelligence to deliver personalised feedback and training content. This page explains which AI systems are used, what they receive, and their limitations.

1. AI systems in use

OpenAI — Whisper (transcription)

When you record a Speaking response, your audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper model for speech-to-text transcription. The resulting transcript is used as input for evaluation.

OpenAI — GPT (evaluation)

Your Speaking transcripts and Writing responses are evaluated by OpenAI GPT models. Evaluation covers:

• Fluency — smoothness, pace, and naturalness of delivery.
• Grammar — accuracy of grammatical structures.
• Vocabulary — range and appropriateness of lexical choices.
• Coherence — logical organisation and clarity of ideas.
• Task Achievement — how fully the response addresses the prompt.

ElevenLabs — Text-to-Speech

Listening exercises and pronunciation models are generated using ElevenLabs text-to-speech technology. No personal data is sent to ElevenLabs — only the exercise text to be synthesised.

2. What AI receives

• Speaking: your audio recording and the exercise prompt text.
• Writing: your written response and the task prompt.
• Listening generation: only exercise text (no personal data).

We do not send your name, email, account ID or any other identifying information to AI providers with your content.

3. Important limitations

• AI feedback is indicative guidance, not an official SLP / STANAG 6001 assessment.
• AI models may produce inaccurate, inconsistent, or incomplete evaluations.
• Scores and estimated levels shown in the App do not predict or guarantee any outcome in an official exam.
• AI systems reflect the biases present in their training data. Always consult official examiners and materials for real exam preparation decisions.

4. Adaptive Coach and Intelligence

The Adaptive Coach and Intelligence dashboards are computed from your own past results — they do not use external AI inference. They are statistical summaries intended to suggest what to practise next, not to certify your level.

5. Data and your rights

Your audio and text are processed by AI providers acting as sub-processors under data processing agreements. For full details on retention, deletion, and your GDPR rights, see the Privacy Policy.
